Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are both painful conditions that involve extreme swelling of the joints. The swelling of the joints occurs when the fluid filled sacks located between the bones and the joints become compromised, causing the bones to rub against each other.
Unfortunately, there is no known cure for arthritis, but there are many alternative therapies that help arthritis sufferers deal with their pain. I want to share with you something I have learned about and have had much success with helping my pain. It is from infrared heat lamps.
Infrared light therapy is one of those therapies that are widely used by hospitals, clinics, and doctors for many years. Infrared light is a special light that is felt as heat when it touches the skin. The light helps with arthritic pain by penetrating deep into the blood vessels and tissues and gently heating the joints. As the blood vessels are heated, they dilate to allow for more blood flow to the affected areas.
There are more benefits to infrared light therapy as well. The infrared light also increases oxygen levels, which stimulate white blood cells and collagen production. This is important as collagen is a necessary substance for repairing damaged joints. The specialized lights have the added benefit of increasing blood flow to joints without raising the user’s blood pressure or increasing their heart rate.
Infrared lights can be purchased online. There are also many clinics and doctors’ offices who offer infrared light therapy services. In fact, health professionals have used infrared heat lamps for many years to treat muscle and joint problems. They have also been used in incubators in hospitals to keep babies warm. For those who are willing to spend the money, infrared saunas are also available to purchase.
Here are some important information to keep in mind:
- Infrared Heat Lamps use a low amount of energy
- They have the ability to heat quickly
- There are two types: Gas Powered and Hot Air Blowers
- They are different from lamps used in electrical lighting
- Can be purchased usually for under $200. The newer the models with Bluewave technology usually cost more.
- Different size lamps can be purchased. Even hand-held devices are available for a less price.
If you suffer from osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis and think that infrared light therapy or infrared heat lamps may be something that you would like to try, you can always ask your medical professional their opinion.
I have included a link to different sizes and types of infrared heat lamps here.
